Keeping it real

August 4th, 2009 at 05:57 pm

Okay let's just say today was a pretty productive day. I cleaned and organized my house like crazy. I was keeping myself busy while trying not to spend any money today. Today was supposed to be a no spend day except.... i had to go to the store and buy some icecream! it was an emergency! And believe when you are 7 months pregnant...ice cream is an emergency. Not to mention i bought some m&m's to top my fat free vanilla frozen yogurt..go figure! It's gotta be the hormones! On a good note I had coupons and only spent 1.39 for a gallon of frozen yogurt and a pack of m&m's..so there you have it my rationalization. But for real..I have bigger fish to fry..for example my credit care debt. I have three credit cards: $1,400 , 5,500 , and 4,400. with a grand total of (drum roll please) 11,300 ouch that was hard to type. Write now i am focuing on the 1,400 chase card now. I am taking baby step to eliminating my credit card debt. I figure with a baby on the way, a mortgage, and working on my masters degree...it's time to pay the piper! and be responsible! I mean I had fun while it lasted..i traveled the world..bought alot of cool stuff but now i'm in DEBT! If only i were this smart a couple of years ago. Well since i can't erase the past i must move forward. I vow to never be that irresponsible again! Whew that felt good to let it go! Now action speaks louder than words so i must take care of this debt one day a time! Thankyou guys for all your support as i continue my journey to financial freedom..i will continue to seek motivation from blogging and reading all your blogs everyday!

Turning over a new leaf

July 31st, 2009 at 04:12 pm

So I have managed to have two no spend days, which for me is pretty good! I almost stopped for iced coffee on my way to work and instead i made my own from home. I think these little changes in my everyday habits will really add up as long as i am consistent with it. But for now i'm just going to take one day at a time and try to make wise decisions when it comes to saving and managing my money!

Where have I been?????

It been over a year since my last post and my finances can reflect that maybe it's time to get back into it.How could i have fallen off wagon? Anyway when at first you don't succeed..try..try again! At least I haven't accumulated any new debt...so that is a start. But i still have 3 credit cards that need to be payed off to be debt free except my mortgage and then I can focus on that. My personal goal is to blog at least 3 times a week to keep myself motivated and hopefully motivate others in the mean time. I'm expecting my first child in novemeber and hope to be a better frugal house wife and I know through the support of you guys and keeping myself motivated ...anything is possible!

Making strides in the right direction

March 21st, 2008 at 01:52 pm

Thankyou all for all your support in my journey. I continue to enjoy reading all your blogs and learning from you good habits. The last two day were no spend days from me. I decided to brown bag my lunch. I work night shift at a hospital and I often by my dinner and latte at Au bon pain or the cafeteria. I spend and average of 6-10 dollars everytime I work. So my new goal is two bring my dinner and snacks to work and save money. Making small changes to equal big results. Maybe I will put the money I save towards the $ 10,782 in credit card debt I have. Ouch! typing that out looks really bad. I've finally come to the realization that I need to stay focused and pay down my debt. Thanks for the motivation guys, there is hope for the future, it's not too late!
