Making strides in the right direction

March 21st, 2008 at 08:52 pm

Thankyou all for all your support in my journey. I continue to enjoy reading all your blogs and learning from you good habits. The last two day were no spend days from me. I decided to brown bag my lunch. I work night shift at a hospital and I often by my dinner and latte at Au bon pain or the cafeteria. I spend and average of 6-10 dollars everytime I work. So my new goal is two bring my dinner and snacks to work and save money. Making small changes to equal big results. Maybe I will put the money I save towards the $ 10,782 in credit card debt I have. Ouch! typing that out looks really bad. I've finally come to the realization that I need to stay focused and pay down my debt. Thanks for the motivation guys, there is hope for the future, it's not too late!

Hi Shopaholic... it sounds like you have the same mini-goal as me! I decided to start eating out less (especially during lunch breaks at work), and I have been successful for 5 days straight! It's really not too hard if you can bring something tasty along to look forward to. This week I had turkey sandwiches & chips, Cheezits, and some mini tortilla pizzas I made in about 5 minutes. I was just adding it up in my blog, but I think I saved about $20 just this week.

If I can do it, you can do it! Just think, every few dollars you save is a few dollars you can add in on your next credit card payment (that's how I have to think about it when I start wanting that cappuccino)!

Love the blog name! I am trying to conquer my clothing addiction! I also had two no spend days this week. I brown bagged my lunch using the left-overs from dinner. Saving me $16 for the week. I decided to use my no spend days to add to my $125 payment ($75 minimum) for a $4,250 credit card debt. Remember, little steps can crush your $10K debt!

Welcome from one newbie to another. I also spend way too much on lunches at work. The challenge is that like to get away from my office during lunch, and when I bring my lunch I must eat at my desk.
